Abstract

Background . The need for pharmacological studies of a combination based on a chelated metal complex and reindeer antler concentrate is due to the insufficient study of adaptogens, in particular the lack of scientific studies evaluating the effect of the combined use of these compounds on physical performance.

Purpose. To study the effect of 21-day oral administration of a combination of a chelated metal complex and reindeer antler concentrate on the physical performance of white mongrel female mice.

Materials and Methods. The study involved a comparative assessment of the physical performance of mice given orally a chelated metal complex, reindeer antler concentrate, and a combination of these compounds.

The studies were conducted on white outbred female mice using the «forced swimming with a load» test.

Results. It has been shown that a single daily intragastric administration of a combination based on a chelate complex of metals and a concentrate of reindeer antlers increases the physical performance of mice: after 10 days — by 1,7 times (by 78,5 %), after 21 days — by 2,9 times (by 193,4 %).

Conclusions. An assumption was made about the synergistic effect of the active components of a combination based on a chelate complex of metals and a concentrate of reindeer antlers as part of a study of its effect on the performance of outbred mice.
